What to Expect

Initial treatment by a technician
Time frame:  1 to 3 hours for your initial visit, and 1/2 to 1 1/2 hours for a return visit.

Time necessary for evaluation and subsequent dilation of your eyes prior to the examination by the physician.  Your visit may take much longer if extensive tests are required or if you have a complex problem.

The pupils of both eyes will be dilated.  Wearing sunglasses will make you more comfortable when you leave the office.
You may wish to have someone accompany you to drive you home as your vision may remain blurred for several hours after dilation.
If you are seen as an emergency, you will be worked into the office schedule and will be seen as soon as possible.

Physician Referred and Self Referred

If you are referred by another physician, they will receive a report following your examination.  Before your first visit to our office you will be mailed a patient information and a medical history sheet.  Please bring these forms, your health insurance cards and a list of your current medications with you.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify our office 24 hours in advance.
